 Post subject: No access HDD Maxtor Y060L0

Hi all,
I don't have access to data, i have an extrange case:
i have all access to SA, i can read modules, and all are ok, but when i try read user data, ERR flag go on and it remain ON allways, i don't know what can i do.

Yes, it would be nice to see what drive is reporting for size and firmware.

UDMA can do a SA structural test have you tried this one. I think there is also a head test too that you can check. But before hand BlackST and harddrivespecialist are right try and upload or put on here the stats from the HDD and what it is reporting. If you can dump the SA and the tracks this one would be good to see also

Have seen heads cause problems in this (and 80gb) Calypso drive, where everything looks ok but no LBA access.

But a proper firmware diagnosis is required to rule that out first, as heads exchange can be a right PITA on these :-(
