I have taken it to a repair shop for a quote and they say at least $1500. Seagate says $3500.

Can you tell us what each, the first shop and then Seagate, told what the exact failure(s) on the drive were based on their evaluation? They should have provided you with some sort of text explanation or report of some sort.

Also, did the first shop open your drive?

Where is your drive now?

Seagate gave me the quote based on the fact that the seal was broken by the first companies assessment! There has not been a diagnosis by anyone. Just a lot of negativity. I have given up hope to be honest, but I would be happy to offer money to someone who can give me a price from this planet. The beeping sound is exactly like the one that started this post. I will give more info as I receive it. Thanks Labtech!
