My hard drive stopped being detected recently, so I took it out of the PC and tried in another PC. The hard drive would not power on anymore. So I bought the same drive again and replaced the PCB from the new drive to the old drive. Now the drive powers on, but it still isn't being detected in BIOS.

Any help and advice ?

(Also tried the Seatools cd in DOS, but that does not detect it either)

You need to transfer the serial flash memory chip from the original board to the replacement.

Ignore fzabkar, the website he is recommending don't know their arse from their elbow. A client of ours used them, they sent him the completely wrong PCB, he ended up paying double what he would have originally.

DIY data recovery does not PAY!

I don't have any relationship with any supplier, but onepcbsolution has had many genuine good reports in various storage forums, including this one AFAIR. Another supplier that offers a cheap transfer service is hdd-parts.com. Expect to pay US$60 in total.
