OK to start off how this originally happened is by my mother mistakenly turning my PC off by the plug.

Upon restart I started to receive "Windows detected a hard disk problem" errors, but all seemed fine.

So I looked further into this and downloaded some great software named HDTune, now I'm no expert in Hard Drives but this software is giving me one error under "Reallocated Sector Count". With the status as "warning". Here is the values;

And over two days these didn't seem to change through the log;

Pretty annoying as this PC is only about a month old and I have only just got back up to speed with all my programs/data etc.

If anyone can help me with these problems/errors I would be SO thankful!

Lewis

HD Tune is telling you that your drive has developed 2644 bad sectors. These have been taken out of service and replaced with spares, ie their LBAs have been reallocated.

See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/S.M.A.R.T.

Thanks, I think I got the understanding on this, just wondering if this is fatal in my HDD's life.

The sector count has now developed to this;

I have contacted the builder/supplier of my PC for a replacement, is this necessary?

@Elemunt:

The number of reallocated sectors has now increased to 2682 (at the time you collected that latest data above), and that has caused the "cooked" SMART attribute value (previously 36, now 35) to drop below the threshold (36). This should cause any software which tests SMART status, to report a SMART failure i.e. a predictive failure situation.

In combinations with that SeaTools result you gave, then:

Yes.
