 Post subject: HDD Doesnt recognize - Need help

Hi all,
I have a external WD 320gb hard drive when i plug into computer it doesn't recognize it just show an usb device connected when i look into the device manager properties it show as USBSTOR\DISK&VEN_&PROD_&REV_\M6116018VF16&0

model no : WD3200BEVT-00A0RT0
DCM : HBNTJABB
DCX : JA0108FR6
DATE : 14 SEP 201

any help will be highly appreciated

try removing from enclosure and plugging direct to your MB

Then try to clone it with ddresure on this one need to clone it to new HDD

Then you need proper tools to work with this and fix it and get off your data. You can invest in a DDI or Atola to do this one with. From what you say your drive is seen correctly but seems you have some internal problems but without seeing the HDD it is hard to say what they are. Could be bad sectors in the beginning of your HDD, partition problems. MBR problems to name a few on this one. But like I say can not tell you what they are from what you have said on this one.

Seems your system sees your drive right but you can not open it up. That is what I am understanding from what you have written. Advise to find a shop to take it too this sort of repair should not cost that much for you to get it done.
