Dear boys,
hello first of all I need to post as unfortunately my enclosure / hdd attached accidentally fell from about 40 cm un'alteza went belly to the ground!
Now is NOT being recognized by S.O. (seven) and by placing the ear on houses I hear a noise comparable to the output of a transformer, even if not a continuous noise, but after about 4 seconds to take a break a little the intensity increases and starts first with the first type of noise (transformer ).
Now Gradivus know what to do for a layman can understand and possibly take action to solve the problem!
I state that if it was daunting to repair the hdd was my desire at least to recover the data inside it!
Confident of your experience I thank you right now
thanks dodago

Probably you have damages the bearings in the spindle motor. It is very common on this series, and at this stage recovery of all data should be very likely in the hands of a professional.

This is not a problem you will likely solve yourself, the only action needed is for you to get it properly evaluated by a professional recovery company

What hddguy says. Get this drive to a pro. But also these types of failures can be quite costly.

Broken spindle. Forget even an idea about DIY. Sorry for bringing bad news.

Asse rotto. Scordati persino l'idea di tentare di fare qualcosa da solo. Spiacente per la cattiva notizia.

Congratulations BlackST,
made diagnosis much less than no time crazy all this in plain English so you're telling me trash the hdd?
Wooowww that luck .... I'm sorry if I ask you I just can NOT get this confirmation?
It 's true that if I try to open any game I can fix it?
Try to be encouraging, at least in this ...
Thanks to each way for all interventions

If you have decided to trash the HDD, then you have nothing to lose by trying some "percussive maintenance". It could be that the motor is OK and that the heads have instead become stuck to the platters.

You might get lucky ...

If it makes you feel better, the internet is full of bulls... ehm, instructional stuff about opening, closing, disassaemble, slap, replace.... Pitiful, reality sucks.
GOOD LUCK anyway (p.s. your HDD is multiplatter and >2 heads on normal case and is a wicked one at mechanical troubles after a shock, just in case....)
I'll bet about the outcome
