 Post subject: An Acer HD Problem

Hello;
I tried partitioning the Hard Disk on my new Laptop, Acer Aspire, using "the 'Manage' Function on the Right Click Menu of Computer". I had thought I could have PARTITIONS as many as I wish, so I specified "100 GB" for the first-new partition; then I found out it's not possible to have more than TWO PARTITIONS. So I tried deleting the new partition in order to EXTEND it to "225 GB" but I couldn't do so; because it's "FREE SPACE" not "UNALLOCATED" and when I want to delete it I get a Windows Message Box telling me that: "This is an extended partition. The partition will become inaccessible if you delete it. Are you sure you want to delete this partition?". Could someone please let me know what do I have to do to fix this problem?

This is not an HD problem. You are asking for Windows sys admin help, so you will be more likely to find suggestions from a forum which discusses Windows sys admin. That subject is off-topic here.

No, there is a limit (different limits depending on the specific partition table type, MBR (which I think applies to your case) or GPT, but there is always a limit). You will need to learn about that, in order to decide what you want to do within those limits.

Unfortunately the screenshot you gave did not seem to fit with the error message regarding an extended partition (I don't see an extended partition in that screenshot), so I won't waste time struggling with that anomoly - instead I suggest you get some Windows sys admin help, since you don't mention needing data recovery.
