I lock my hdd, I don't know ata password. I try use Mhdd with unlock command, but it return "fail" message. Protection is set to HIGH. How can I unlock hdd drive? Thanks.

Ok, sediv work on seven? Can i use a USB ttl adaper? connect cable diagram? Thanks.

How I connect Tx Rx Gnd to this hdd pin? I want to buy USB TTL adapter that take power source by usb. Sediv doesn't work on my seven ultimate 32bit. Thanks.

Don't expect too much for free!
You will have to buy Sediv to use the read password function!

Yes I have no problem but if I buy sediv I don't know tx rx gnd diagram cable to connect hd. And don't know if sediv works on seven and I ask if I use USB TTL adapter instead Rs232 TTL works good. Thanks.

Ma non serve a niente se non hai la versione full (a pagamento) di Sediv o programmi simili. Non c'è nessun programma del genere gratis.
Comunque i fili rosso e giallo se li inverti non succede nulla, semplicemente non funziona. In tal caso invertili. Il nero invece è la massa e non puoi sbagliare.

You need SeDiv full version or similar programs. No freeware are able to reset the password.
However the red and yellow wires if you invert them nothing happens, it just doesn't work. In this case invert them. The black is the ground and you can't go wrong.

Si grazie, ma devo sapere come collegarli, prima di comprare sediv. Comunque il mio è ATA 2,5" non ha i piedini come la foto. Ma perchè non posso sbagliare con il Gnd lo collego dovunque?

Thanks, but I must Know pin connect diagram, first. However my device is ATA 2,5" isn't like photo (Only for SATA drive). Can I connect GND anywhere? Thanks a lot.

Intendevo dire di non collegare il ground sui piedini del tx o del rx.
In ogni caso sediv non costa poco e non è facile da usare, è molto più economico acquistare un nuovo disco se i dati non ti interessano.
Inoltre se non hai i piedini per il collegamento TTL allora non ti serve proprio a nulla l'adattatore (magari fai una foto).

I meant to say not to connect the ground pin to tx or rx.
Anyway sediv isn't cheap and it is not easy to use, it's much cheaper to buy a new drive if you don't need data.
Also if you don't have pins for the TTL link then the adaptor will not work (maybe take a picture).

He doesn't need data...
but unfurtunally ST960812A is not supported in hdd unlock

I had assumed that hdd unlock would be able to run secure erase on this drive.

per michael chiklis o chi sa aiutarmi: finalmente ho collegato il disco (ATA e non Sata) e trovato i pin rx e tx che sono gli ultimi 2 in alto staccati dopo la fila dei 22 prima il Tx e poi Rx. Sediv (funziona su Xp su Seven no, solo con Com rs-232 reale no adattatori usb) riconosce il dispositivo. Per fargli leggere la password ata il campo è oscurato, forse devo acquistare il programma come faccio? Grazie.

Where can I buy Sediv, to read ata password?

per v3rcingetorige, si in effetti è una materia ostica. Comunque ho visto il Sediv (versione prova) collegato direttamente al controller del disco, tramite cavo ttl. Sembra essere veramente un ottimo prodotto per risolvere svariati problemi. Appena ho risposta dall'autore vi comunico le condizioni a cui vende il programma. Tu che problema hai sul 250? Saluti.

Preso un netbook col disco bloccato.. Non mi interessa assolutamente recuperare i dati, ma solo recuperare il disco. Ho provato anch'io l'interfaccia RS232-LVTTL e il terminale funziona.. Ma che comandi dare e' un mistero... Se l'autore ti risponde sono interessato anch'io (se il gioco vale la candela..) io ho un ST 9250315AS momentus 5400.4
