You try ESLIP mode to get access?

hi,
i don't think switching from "ASCII Diagnostic Mode" to "ESLIP" will fix your LBA0 problem.
Maybe useful to know exactly which commands you sent through com port from the beginning and the hdd reply, if you saved the log should be even better.

Bye
Luca

I agree it wont fix it, but some level of access to the data may be possible using it assuming it is translator related error...

Agree.

Have had success with this in the past, when translator regens don't "stick". :P

The problem is not with the PCB, so there is no need to swap it.

Are you 100% sure that the source of the symptoms isn't something else, such as bad heads or media damage?

7200.11 when there is damage with heads, it speed down after trying to initialize. my drive initialises correct, shows M/N, S/N and LBA 0.

when i first got it in my hands, it wasn't recognised. after clearing the smart shows up with LBA 0. tried several times to fix that. it takes up to 8-9 minutes to finish the procedure, but still no result.

I agree with Luke, you should perhaps check that the cause of the symptoms is not actually a physical one such as a bad head. The last 2 cases I've had of BSY and 0 LBA .11 drives were due to a bad head.
