Harddrive was connected using BYTECC USB 2.0 to IDE/SATA, everything worked.
Disconnected safely from OS, Removed USB. Harddrive was still spinning so I unplugged the power.
Now the drive won't get detected in the BIOS and will not spin...
I'm guessing the board is dead?

I do not have a backup of the drive and the information on there is critical...

Where can I find a replacement board?
Any help would be appreciated!

I didn't hear any sounds. I put my ear right next to the drive.

Ok, my first thought was sticktion!
Then you have to find you a pcb (S3M Rev.02) from a same drivefamily to see if the drive spins up properly, if it spins you need to swap rom aswell.

the other board has firmware 0001 while mine has 0002. So i'll need them to reprogram it as well.

I put the board from the dead drive on the new drive and it didn't spin.
I put the new board on the dead drive just power for 1/2 of a second and i heard the harddrive start to spin! So it's just the board that died!! (I HOPE)

I'm going to ship the boards to have the rom swap and firmware swapped.

Hi, those looks good...but you need to swap Rom...marked in red.
But be careful those tiny chip's can easy break.

Thanks everyone.

Just an update I have shipped the boards to donor drives for a rom swap / adaptation.
Their support team response was quick and detailed. Their service seems stellar! I'll keep you posted on what happens.

Thanks everyone for your help!

I just got the drive back from Donor Drives and AMAZING service!!
They brought my drive back to life without costing me an arm and a leg like everyone else wanted.

Highly Recommended!!
