Yes, it's not fair to judge anybody ability or inability (it depend on the circumstances) BUT it was you appearing in this forum claiming what you did and what you do and your background (in America they say "TMI ! " - too much information) and then later , in a nutshell , if you know how stuff work you can fix / do whatever you want. Unfortunately it is not true, otherwise there would be no boundaries between science and sci-fi and between know how and bullshit.

Moreover, if you know the basics, have background skills, watched videos and surfed the internet ( ?!? ) why ask ? you should have already had the answers.

You had an answer you probably didn't like, but that's it : yes you can change an headstack assuming there is compatibility (you have to work out or get informed by yourself if in your case the donor stack IS actually compatible) but there are a lot of variables at play like media condition and other stuff so probably unless you are very lucky a straightforward replacement won't work OR you'll have the new stack killed at power on.
Same for platter swap. Theory is one thing, real life is another.

Final consideration : because of "someone" attitude, if you have read this forum, deep technical questions are done between MANY locked out doors because it would lead to loss of data / drives OR loss of revenue OR both.
If you really want to make money out of your profession or new profession (data recovery ?) you have to invest TIME and MONEY, a lot of it.
If you repaired life support devices and stuff like that for a company - or your own company, if it is the case - you should be aware of how much instruments, procedures, tools and quality ARE mandatory premises (let me be "a bit" doubtful about the whole story, anyway) as there is no room for "approximation" : in the data recovery field things run exactly the same way.

I don't judge i just try to explain that you see the things in one too simple way and just experience in this domain will make you to see things in another way. I'm not one active user on this forum but your attitude is something what i meet to many IT Guys and Electronic Guys, let's say "repair everything guys".

I see too many cases killed by this kind of guys which consider that solution for everything is changing platters(this procedure is necessary in 1-3% from cases which i meet until now)

Many of them thing that they can do the same like one Data Recovery Professional but reality is that they can't.

Let's talk after 5 years of 8-14 work hours/day in this domain and you will give me right.

Dear Friend its not about "repair everything guys" its about how much you understand electronics and some basic logics, i only knew how a Resistance+cap+diode+tr+coil works and with this i started from radio+transistor radio moved on to B/W Tv's and Colour TV than to vcp+vcr's to cordless phones to camcorder to mobile phones, done everything without any problem, as the time changes technology also from sil/dil ics to qfp's to BGA's from single layer pcb to double layer to multilayer to Film pcb.
No Problem till date , just because i only understand basic electronics.

btw we are getting too much out of topic.
