100617465 REV A and fired pcb is 100617465 REV B.
My doubt is whether i can swap the pcb to recover the data.

Won't matter. PCB's are compatible.

Dear Northwind,
Thank you very much for your reply.

the pcb was actually one from Barracuda green and another from barracuda Lp where model number, firm ware and pcb number are same except for the rev a and rev b and also the site code.

site code and rev was different in both the hard disks.

lot of thanks

Hi

Just try it.
It should work.

PS. If you dont feel comfortable about soldering, have someone skilled to do this for you. ROM's for seagates are unique, if you mess this up, bye-bye data (well, almost).
You also accept the risks of DIY blah blah blah..

Well done!

DIY has its place, and this is a good example of success.

But this doesn't make every case so. :-)

Even the simple DIY requires some technical ability and investment. No way around it...

Dear all,

I got an identical pcb for the fired hdd from data pro data recovery Canada. I have send the burnt pcb to them and they have given me a pcb which is cloned. I installed the hdd and found that it's detecting but the size was showing only 8gb instead of 2tb. Could anyone throw light into this?.
