How to unlock ST3120026A when it's in maximum security and the master password is lost

I tested generics ones “Seagate[ ]*” and others but it just failed”…

I dont care of the data on it ...

Can this disk unlocked for free ?
by software (using ATA commands ) ?

by hardware (max232 / serial ) ?

Finally I use GNU/Linux , can hdparm be used to brute force the disk ?

Regards

RZR, have a look at command F3. Also, please stop dredging up old posts. The best advice I can give you is to prove you are trying and most people here will guide you in your learning. No one will give you the answers outright.

Hint 1: Use rs232/ttl convertor
Hint 2: There's a list of seagate commands somewhere in this forum
Hint 3: Someone posted a solution for another seagate model that need only minor adaptation

Regards

Code:
T>/2 (Enter)
2>S006b (Enter)
2>R21,01 (Enter)
2>C0,570 (Enter)
2>W20,01 (Enter)

can anyone translate this to english ? is S006b related to geometry ?

I think start from hint #1.
Post terminal boot messages, in this way family and firmware version can be identified.

BTW, Sxxxx is a command seek to cylinder. On your drive this solution won't work.

About #1 I thought about using LVTTL UART of my raspberry pi , but I am unsure if it is safe , since I've been reading that hdd is powered by 5V , not 3.3V ...

I am Invesitigating ...
