Hi guyz,

I am having WD My Passport 070a its locked but i dint lock it locked itselfand my datas inside tats important my photos r in tat......i read many of the threads related about password reset wd in hddguru and tried mhdd its not working SLAVE DEVICE NOT SUPPORTED its shows like this and other error message is DEVICE IS NOT READY and i dont know about scripting....can anyone show the link for step by step tutorial for scripting to reset wd password......i contacted WD Customer Care they told cant recover password they told to erase the data and recover the data with data recovery tool its not 100% sure.......can anyone help me at this point to reset my password guyzzzzz

That usually means there is an internal drive fault, and seeing the drive locked is not the real problem - that is just a symptom (i.e. effect) of the real (internal drive fault) problem. IMHO I see no sensible (especially remote) DIY resolution for you, and you will need to use the services of a suitably experienced DR company.

sorry sorry vulcan i cant understand wats tat IMHO N DIY N DR :roll: company means???sorry i am new about this so i dont know these terms plz dont mistake me vulcan.if i can able to fix through software???thanks for ur immediate response...... :)

IMHO = in my humble opinion
DIY = do it yourself (i.e. options for fixing the problem yourself)
DR = data recovery (at least in this context, that is how this acronym is usually to be interpreted)

In short: I believe there is nothing that you can do to fix your problem, based on your description of the situation. The (paid for) services of an experienced data recovery company will be required.

Do NOT erase the drive if you want data, you WILL NOT be able to recover after that.

Vulcan is correct, there is NOTHING you can do to fix it yourself.

Either send to a professional or live without your data.

Simples.
