Hi Guys,

I have a strange TOSHIBA MK2552GSX ...

Not recognised in bios from a PC
Comes Ready but not recognised with Salvation HDD Doctor
With Data Compass i can access it see directories begin to copy data and after +/- 1 minute no access ... simply stop power of the disk and begin again then i can copy during +/- 1 min ... and so on ... but there is many data ...

My feeling is a PCB or Firmware problem ... does someone had this case before ?

Many thanks
Alain

Not PCB

More like a bad head and/or media issues

I don't have many experience with TOSHIBA :( ... and the salvationdata training didn't speak of TOSHIBA :( ... they just speak of FUJITSU (mod 11 and 12 for ide and DA ans SA for SATA) :?:

Why changing PCB : I already have similar problem with another brand and it was PCB ... so i try another PCB ... i put back the original PCB and first try to save important files ...

Is there a way to test the heads ? At least one must be good because i can read but not for a long time :D

Many thanks

Do one thing, especially if the drive is not yours, OUTSOURCE the job - before it's too late.
