Its a shame you didnt find this forum first. You have cleared resident and non-resident GLIST, and translator has been reconstructed without taking into account these lists.

Admittedly there is still some problem (and LP are not so nice to work on) but you have just potentially complicated this recovery and compromised your data.

If it was for me I had already removed at least from this forum the threads about the "internet fix" for Seagate because this is another example of consequences of applying "one size fits all" solutions without a diagnose.

Anyway the problem was for sure elsewhere. But now....

You know? I had a bad feeling when I saw these terminal commands on this website and made a point of mentioning it at the time. They worked fine with most 7200.11 drives but the newer ones have different problems, the NRG module which was rarely used on 7200.11 is almost always containing entries on 7200.12 + I think a notice may need to be added to the solution on this site if one hasn't been already.

As far as Limax's problem goes, it is still possible to recover after NRG removal but expect to pay a lot more than you would have - it will require a lot of manual rebuilding of the NRG list and you may also have to kiss a lot of frogs before you get your prince. So make sure the company can fix (and has heard of) Non-Resident G list (NRG) and how to fix it. If they say they can only read up to a certain point, then they havent fixed the problem.

Non resident list includes entries that influence translator and on clearing translator becomes damaged. without translator logical addresses cannot be resolved and data cannot be reached. There is no way to 'restore' this list without lots of manual work to rebuild each individual record within it.

G-list has no influence on translation system.

A drive with bad sectors could have some LBA adresses in G-list, but if there are not bad sectors the G-list should be empty, and what about the non-resident GLIST?
It's possible to rebuild the non-resident GLIST in hyperterminal with RS232/TTL and with knowledge without loosing data?

Assume one thing : if you trust what internet say , "SOMETIMES" you gain access to the drive but SCREW DATA...

I know some case where people thought that a TTL-RS232 and some googling could give them a lot of extra money and they had a lot of royal troubles, instead.

non resident list is generated at factory prior to any shipping. It does not contain defects identified after this time

Correct me if i'm wrong, the translator regeneration comand it doesn't always clears the Non-Resident G list.
Many times happen to fix the 7200.12 serie with m0,2,2,,,,,22 and all LBAs get again accessed:
