Hello from Greece! :)

I have a Seagate Freeagent 9NL7A8-510 1 tera byte hard disk.
I was try to connect it via esata to my Fujitsu NAS q600.
It didnt work!
As i searched in Google, i found many users that they couldnt make it to work via esata.
I found this blog http://blog.noegruts.com/2007/12/seagat ... blems.html
I did what exactly he says, but the disk is dead. It recognized by Windows 7 as "oxford UF934DSA", and Oxsemi Uploader says
"A UF934DSA in USB Upload Mode has been selected You must select a flash type to continue"

I think that the problem is that i didn't backup the config.txt file before i flash the firmware.
Now i want someone with the same Hard disk, to download the firmware flash program from here http://support.seagate.com/rightnow/dow ... pdate1.zip
and without flash his disk or change anything, just go to "Modify Configuration Information", export the "config.txt" file and send it to my email.

Thanks a lot!

Do you need the data inside the disk ?
If so remove the disk from the enclosure and check if the computer ID it correctly, when plugged directly to the motherboar port. Trash the enclosure (external box).

I dont think that the hard disk has any problem. The problem is the usb controller from the external box, but i like the appearance from this box, and i want to keep it.

Thanks!

I would check the disk first, and backup all data on it. Obly then i would try to re-flash the external box.

I was open the case, and connect the HD via sata, to my desktop pc.
Its working ok! I also upgraded its firmware, because it is one of the problematic series 7200.11
Seagate sucks! did not even answer to my emails!
Now i will buy a new case with esata, and i will try to find a new firmware for the freeagent case controller.
Thanks!
