I'm using an Adaptec 1405 Controller, and I can read SAS drives without a problem. I know on these particular drives I'm working with there is a 128 sector header on each drive. However, when I image them, and I view the image file, there is only a 125 sector header. Somehow the sectors are getting skewed in the imaging process. It doesn't matter if I use WinHex or R-Studio.

When I view the physical drive, the data starts at sector 128. When I view the created image file, the data starts on sector 125. Any ideas as to what could cause this?

I created an image file using Get Data Back, and it creates a perfect image with the data starting on sector 128. Why would this be different than WinHex and R-Studio?

Generally I use winhex for imaging good SAS disks, I never seen this problem before. Im glad you got your images ok eventually!

I know, it's strange. I've imaged SAS drives in WinHex as well with no problem. I've only seen something similar to this in one other case, but in that one there was actually a small bit of data written to each sector that threw everything off. This is only screwed up if I use WinHex or R-Studio to create the image file. Weird.
