Hey guys,

I have a 1TB WD external hard drive, with about 800gb of data on one partition. With GParted I performed a partition move on it to the beginning of the disk. The first phase took 8 hours, then it went to another phase which had an ETA of 12 hours, but because of a power out it didn't finish.

After i started my computer the partition was gone, though it recognized that an external hard drive was connected. With a program called MiniTool partition Wizard I ran a file system check to "Check and fix detected errors". It started recovering some files, though very slowly. I let it ran for 4 days non-stop until I had another power-out :(.

When I ran the check again it showed that everything seems normal, although when i tried to open the .JPG files on it, they showed no information, i couldn't view them, though they seemed to have normal size. I checked it again with PC Inspector File Recovery and it showed tons of lost cluster files, but i have no idea how to place them back to their original location. I really need that data, at least the pictures. Is there any way i can recover my files?

TLDR: damaged partition, lots of cluster files appearing in PC Inspector, no idea how to recover them.

Thanks in advance.

Raw scan for pictures may be your only option here. Try Photorec
