Dear experts and newbies ,

I have G2 portable of samsung. someone kept a leg of chair and set on the chair while the HDD was still under use. There was no interruption to data or use while the HDD was under human load. The HDD after that is blinking , shows up in device manager but does not show up in my computer. After connecting it to laptop it takes a while to give alert and pop up of portable being connected.

I have good amount of data within and i would like to recover it myself. I tried ubuntu but it does not detect the HDD either.

while searching thru online I found this website would seek help from fellow users and Computer Geeks.

I have reached to a conclusion which may not be true that the pcb inside has crashed or has problem therein.

The HDD rotates but with squeeking sound randomly.

Please help and allow me to recover the data.

Thanking you..

Hi,

To be honest, if you don't have any experience I think it will be hard to do things on your own.
Why don't you get a quote from a Data Recovery company?

The squeaking sound comes from the heads when they hit the "bulb" in the down pressed lid and hit the surface at the same time.
Could be game over for the data already as the heads has touch the media surface.
DON'T power on that drive no more, find a data recovery company in your city and ask them for help...IF the data is valuable.
