I had two 7200.10 Seagate drives in a machine. The power supply in the machine died, so I tried moving them to another machine to read the data off, but one of the drives stopped working too. It has a clicking noise when it starts, so I assume the head is malfunctioning and this would require very expensive professional repair. I'm not sure if there was anything I hadn't backed up on the drives, so I'm unsure if it's worth it to me.
One of the drives is still working fine, and I grabbed an image off of it (just to make sure it doesn't die as well), so I have half the data, but I don't know of any way to view it.
I've heard there are mechanisms to view the filesystem structure (NTFS) and parts of the files with only half of the RAID0, and that there are multiple entries of the file listings, so I could likely piece together most of it. Does anyone have suggestions on tools that could do this? I assume that I could then pull out half of files, e.g. pieces of images or text files.
Thanks
