 Post subject: WD 3.5" makes some noise pattern

hi,

i have WD model: WD5000AAVS-00G9B0 DCM: HHNNHTJMHB size: 500.0 GB. i connect to power. it spins up and makes some noise pattern then stops spinning. i can't access to the drive. what's the problem.

If 'noise pattern' means a short cycle of heads knocking, in conjunction with spindle stopping, very likely you have bad heads

possible, but the bad secots would have to be in the system area right where the drives firmwhere is. It's more likely the drive has a head crash. A DR company should give you a free check service I beleave.
