Now that internet is flourished with full version of WDR namely wdr 3.6 aka wdr4.0 akd WDR6

We can now talk abt the wdr 3.6 full-flegedely in the forum.

First you have to download the software from internet, then check the HDD PCB for malfunctionality with a multimeter. If everything is ok we can proceed with WDR 3.6/4/6.

If the modules are still functional then you can easily revive the HDD to normal functioning.

Now, comes the point if THE MODULES are NOT functional. We have to search for firmware for HDD model. If you get the requisite firmware you can revive the hdd. Otherwise the hdd is nothing but brick only.

Serach INTERNET for malfuntions of the hdd pcb. PCBmaster is FZABKAR. His master blaster articles on various HDD PCbs are marvelous.

See also, various THREADs written by al ostora in http://www.quriya.com/vb, michael in hpwlab.com and splidit in malthus.zapto.org. They are masters in WDR operations. Also, we must mention the name of Mr Waqas Ali of Pakistan for his wide knowledge in WDR.His videos on WDR are excellent. Also some other masters expert in PC-3000, Salvation are now taking interest in WDR, check their latest threads for update.

That's all for today. As WDR for gained immense popularity the last 6 months for the benifit of all members i have started the thread.

Because the only authentic article and video on wdr has been published by him. Every other experts has copied them and are using as their own as he is NOT SO WORLD FAMOUS. Mr Waqas Ali may be master of other field in HDD/Electronics even, but the article and video is excellent.

I know you are personally very close to Mr. WAQAS ALI and if he is offended by my remark that "he is a Master in WDR", I do apologise. But convey my regards for the write up and video, we all are eargerly waiting for 2nd part of it which will be on "ROM Regeneration on replacement PCB".

Many members are finding it difficult as modules are reported missing.

With external ROM, modules will be empty of data. Only 109 will be populated.

I have always thought it was useless since WD is not the only hard drive manufacturer. In the grand scheme of available DR tools, WDR is on the bottom but just slightly above SalvationData WD DR. In my opinoin, people who buy WDR (or steal it in most cases) are usually broke and can't afford real equipment or new to data recovery.

friend dont need to match rom . upload donor rom and donor overlays. complete overlays .
uploding overlays cannot effect data in the drive .
because for new drives like jamica_4K and zypher rom regenration is difficult.
this is my new method it work for data recovery . but if u need to repair then after this u need to run (reserverd arco (44)) then after complete (format reserved area) then upload all modules and power reset .
then (run user area arco(46)) and after complete power reset . then format with p and g list.
hdd is ok
thanks

It can if adaptive information is not preserved and restored afterwards. also, to make writes to clients disk like this is not always a great idea, and you also need to make sure there will be no errors in writing - if there are errors in SA and writing fails you can cause serious problems.

Some masters are talking. Would you please lower your level of talking, so that newcomers are benefited.

Please please educate all in WDR, so that it becomes a real class in this forum.

Welcome "Spildit" in this thread, i was expecting you much earlier. But if not possible to use new HDD as if anything goes wrong, then "loss of good money". But your idea is excellent for building a modules-database of WDR in any website.

Do know know Mr. WAQAS ALI has made excellent videos for WDR and i have got the 1st one from your malthus.zapto.org and has found it as 5star rated.

We request Mr. Waqas Ali to post links of more videos in this thread so that all members can get it. We also require videos of sediv even.

Lastly, Mr. Waqas Ali, your english is highly understandable. I request other masters of WDR to participate in making WDR a success.
