 Post subject: WD Dragonfly 2 and 3

Masters i am very much confused with these dragonfly 2 and dragonfly3 series wd hdds.

I have two WD10EADS-11M2B2 1 TB hdds but one is DF2 and another DF3. How can that be?? when except sl no all are identical, when even pcb are same. DF2 and DF3 are shown in WDR software only.

For curiosity sake i am thinking of interchanging the PCB, but anticipating accident i have troed it.

Master of WD hdds please throw some light in the DF series.

Both should be DF2

Oh! one thing I forgot to mention:- One of them which is DF3 is a refurbished Drive.

What does module C5 show here on refurbished model?

DF2 is a two-platter disk and DF3 is a three-platter, 512GB per platter. Your DF3 drive most likely has one or two neads depoped.
It is a normal practice in WD.
