WD Black2 SSD/HDD Review:
http://www.storagereview.com/wd_black2_ssd_hdd_review

The drive incorporates a Marvell 88SM9642-NMD2 6Gbps SATA port multiplier chip.

These chips appear similar:

Marvell 88SM9715/9705/9602 Product Brief:

Marvell 88SM9715/9705/9713/9703 6Gb/s SATA Port Multipliers:

ISTM that one would work on the combo as two separate drives. Just tap into the SATA Tx/Rx pairs on the device side of the port multiplier.
