 Post subject: Help identifying this adapter

Hi, i purchased some WESTERN DIGITAL 2.5" 500gb ssd drives, but they have very strange connectors at the back..i needed some advice on identifying the connectors, and any information i might need to convert them to standard sata?

Are you sure those are SSD drives? The connector, despite de poor quality of the picture, seem to be a standard mini USB connector, or maybe some sort of Firewire connector. There's no easy DIY way of converting that to SATA, I'm afraid...

These don't look like SSD drive to me either, and that's a micro usb2 connector. It's from a WD passport USB chassis.

Assuming the drives do actually work and you don't need the data then you could convert to SATA by transferring the rom chip at U12 to a compatible SATA PCB.

They look like the ones from inside a passport case. grab a usb cable and see :)

Hi, a first step in this case would have been to google something like:

Code:
"W10eas23xxx" "connector"

or
Code:
"W10eas23xxx" "specifications"


where "W10eas23xxx" would be YOUR model number
