What about a USB hub with an activity LED?

A quick search on Google and came up with this..... http://www.usblyzer.com/monitor-usb-traffic-analyze-usb-device-activity.htm

Not sure if it will help you achieve your goal, but just thought I'd throw it in....

:D

That doesn't work really well. interferes with some USB traffic and crashes a lot. I tried to sniff some data with it for a project and spent a lot of time before giving up.

the reason of asking for such cable is the following:

i got a stupid NAS with 5 drives (which is bricked) and the only way to upload FW and re-use it again (for me of course) is via USB flash
which is equiped with custom linux booting whatever

the problem is that the FW image is big (about 320mb) which takes time to extract/deploy

without any Activity Indicator i got stuck ( in the middle of no where ) i cannot tell if the process is finished or not

thnx for the Quick :!: :!: :!: where i used a Sony 32GB flash (which has LED flashing) and by then i managed to get it back online

now am happy and can use it for my own

thank you all
