Hello everyone I am in need of some help. I had 5 WD green 1.5 TB drives setup in a raid configuration for a backup machine. Anyway the machine got pulled and so did the drives so I have 5 hard drives on my desk. I don't need to recover the data I just want to be able to reuse the drives somewhere else. I have tried to do a LLF with some tools I found on the forums but I get "Format Error occurred at offset : 1117 - Device I/O error" you guys or gals have any suggestions?

Use MHDD for basic diagnostic.

Worn out. If you want to do some experiment is good but it is likely a waste of time especially on this kind of drives. Need to find someone in your area or near that have the gear and know how to refurbish them for a nominal fee, and recertify them. I am too far, sorry.

P.s. it is not always possible to fix this kind of situation, or the outcome is partial, i.e. a good 300 GB instead of a broken 500 , but forget the 500...
