Did the STCom program recognise the model of drive correctly
I'm still experimenting with it, but am not convinced it always saves or restores firmware modules correctly
eg on my 7200.7 the ones it saves are full of 00's of ff's
even though I select the correct Alpine 8.x model
and although I've obviously not tried restoring them yet, I am not sure it can

Suggest you use a hex editor to look at the contents of the modules you are uploading

I'll be writing up my STCom findings and experiments in due course

I also have a 7200.2 that I mistakenly self scanned and is now it stuck at F> with no app, cert or ata overlays etc
that I am also experimenting with

Because spildit needs to eat everyday and food costs $$$ so sometimes some $$$ is good, specially if you are asking for my help over and over again !

So you needed like 3 years and another "DR-for-dummies" site to come to this conclusion?
And finally you are "a greedy DR person" who "doesn't want to help" people who just "asking simple questions" and want to "rip them off"

Surprise, surprise

Sup guys.

I don't think Spildit is greedy, he has HELP a LOT the DR community with his knowledge and different ways to fix hdd problems, Spildit is always willing to help but... there are some users that they don't want to read or learn they just want to get help and thats it, all you gurus don't share all your knowledge cause this is your bread and butter and with what you make a living, you may help at some point but beyond you wont help, cause of course you have family you have kids, you need to pay the rent, I don't see why is bad if he ask for money since you all do.

It is because he has help a lot of people for free? well maybe but he has giving to the community something at least to try out, not ALL who tries DR will have a DR company impossible, there is SO MUCH information on hdd that you need to be on top of this everyday, if you are starting a DR company trust me GOOD LUCK, you may have a PC3K, ATOLA, ST-COM tool or WDR tool, you can have any tool but without knowledge, you are out of luck.

So if Spildit wants to start charging to fix hdd, i don't see why not do IT is your time and your knowledge, people are always going to get mad when new hdd secrets are out, that's normal, a lot of people are pissed with Scott Moulton cause he is giving DR classes.

But in the long run if you want to help for free go for it, if you want to charge go for it, it all depends on what you want.

Cheers.

That will be tuned down to some point, eventually. It is already showing up. Every DR pro has went through it, it's universal, but many people who just started doing DR do not believe in it, they always think they know better. And Spildit will go through it if he becomes a pro in time.

Me neither, the problem is, some time ago Spildit has been behaving exactly as "HARD RECOVER" guy and wouldn't accept the idea that knowledge costs some money. And finally the day came and he changed his mind.

No, it's because some time ago he was saying that "free help" is the only correct way of doing things here and who's not doing that is "a greedy DR guy"

PS:I may have exaggerated some things but that's the general idea
