Hi
I have a Segate baracuda 7200.10 st3500630as 500 Gb hard disk drive but Windows is not recognising the hard disk drive any more.
I have see that the coil has come undone on the PCB. I have soldered it back and the hard drive spins but not seen by windows in device manager

if anyone has a spare hard disk drive or a replacement PCB for free that they could post to me or alternatively if local I could come and collect

I would really appreciate it very much

Many Thanks

you'll need to provide a lot more information. On newer drives you rarely if ever can just cold swap PCB's like that. You'll need to have a new one reprogrammed for you.

No one is going to give you a free one. Trust me, this is a business for most of us.

Duck22 i answered you in PM, i have some 3R3 inductors, but most likely you will not be able to repair the drive by just changing inductors.
If a issue was related to a bad inductor the drive wouldn't even spin, because your drive spins then most likely the problem is elsewhere.

Is the drive detected in the computer bios?
If yes then most likely the drive has bad sectors or weak heads, or both, if not then most likely a firmware issue (then you would need a TTL converter to start a diagnosis).

Hi
Thanks for the response friends
The drive used to be detected but then this inductor was unwinding and bits comin out
I'm sure that if I replace the inductor all should be good
What more tests can I do
