Hello,

I recently have been expereincing problems with my windows... and games etc. Every while (sometimes interval is 10s simetimes 10m or more) i get my PC Freeze...

What exacly happens is my cursor stops and then moves.. or rather jumps... like computer was under veeery heavy load it lacks CPU power to move cursor.

For some time i had feeling that that was HDD related issue. I replaced SATA cables to better quality ones. I had alot of ULTRADMA errors in SMART. After I replaced cables 1 month ago none happend.

However, my problem still occurs and its happening more often.

Smarty does not show anything abnormal expect ULTRADMA CRC Erros of 736 (they stopped increasing after replacing cables)

The disk is: WD2500YS-01SHB1.

I bought total of 2 disks for RAID long time ago. Both are same model. The old one that fell few months ago had 48 of pending and reallocated sectors each.

Is this model faulty? Will it break? Better to backup and replace or nothing to worry? Would smarty show such problems?

File comment: I underlined with red moments where system starts hanging. It hangs for 10s and grapth stops generating for that time. It's goes to 0. generates for 1s (so you see gap) and after it ends resumes generating

UltraDMA CRC error means device cable is bad or making some error. So immediately change your HDD cable.

I did it. But it still havent solved my problem. I get a feeling its somehow windows related and due to very heavy load too..

Still, bought today SSD drive for system. Too afraid of this one going down. Maybe will leave it for some more time and test how it behaves.

Good decision. If new disk is fine, just get your data off and forget it. No use spending loads of time and getting grey hair for nothing.

That behavior is more commonly related to temperature issues - although HDD problems are not to be discarded. I'll start checking CPU temps first. Also try to boot your PC without hard drives connected to it, using some Linux Live CD, to see how it behaves. Then try removing some components if you don't see things clear...
