Hi,

Yesterday I knocked my hard drive off my desk whilst moving things around! It has since stopped working and makes a clicking sound? Is there something i can do to fix this problem myself?

Thanks

F. Carrow

No you can't, heads are bricked.
Ship it to a data recovery specialist, they will change heads in clean room.

Good luck!

I feared that may have been the case unfortunately! Can you recommend a reputable company? And how much can i expect to pay for this kind of problem?

Well, I sent it to a company in Bridgend, after a week they told me they couldn't fix it so i had it returned to me. I then sent it to the data recovery hospital in England, who have quoted me £2500...does this sound like a scam? :?
