I can read NVRAM, HDD ID and SMART.

But when I try to read a sector, I can't.

Is it a translation issue? if yes, is there a way to regenerate a Hitachi translator in PC3000 v5.5

Many thanks for your help.

Firstly I'd try and rewrite RDMT (g list) copy 1 from copy 0.

If that fails I'd try and clear glist (RDMT)

PM me if you need further assistance.

Hello,
Try to use data extractor and create new task with active utility, it will extract data,
don't need to upload RDMT on copy 1, if you want to repair the hdd then you must need to upload RDMT at copy 1.

As you say that you are unable to write RDMT at copy 1 , it means head weak, or read only.

To rule out Head problem (weak head), try to write a couple of other modules Copy-0 to Copy-1. If it has no problem copying then, you can rule out Head problem.

I can read and write modules without any problem. so I don't think it's a Head problem.

It should be a FW issue but I dont know how to deal with it!

try a donor pcb first by removing the nvram and if there is rom chip move it too
if there is no rom chip on the pcb , its more likely pcb problem
i had a similar issue once, thought it was bad heads but turned out pcb issue

Hi All,

I could resolve the problem.

The head0 was weak. I've created a head map and deactivated the head0 and I could image the drive.

Thank you for your help.

but in this condition you have not all data

You can try to replace Head Stack, and then you probably get all data.

Yes I know.

I imaged the drive with only head 1 & head 2 and fortunately, I found the customer data in that area.
