+1 thatdellguy,

The tools is not most important.
most important is your skills, knowledge and patience.

Rather than fish for what tools professionals are using, please list the tools you are exploring and perhaps some might be willing to put them in order of quality.

PC3K for both.
Make sure you get PC USB Terminal 2 if you buy it. Terminal 1 has issues with new grenada drives.

Also had some cases where DDI performed a lot better imaging then Data Extractor in PC3K. Last case like that was a WD Tahoe after head swap. Had media damage after drop. PC3K would ID the drive but DE would not image even in single sector access. DDI imaged that case slow but steady.

Thanks Alexii,

What is your opinion about MRT tools ?

They seem to have a very reasonable price for a product as good as PC3000, with a very friendly and pro-active customer support ! Their only problem that I have observed, so far, is the lack of reliable English language manual, that they have promised to rectify soonest possible !!!

And they do provide free updates too !!!

What do you say about it ???

The best thing I ever learned about DR tools was not to buy anything made in China or India.

Unfortunately i know nothing about MRT. Cant comment. Although a quick google search gave me a bunch of print screens with a tools , whos UI looks hauntingly similar to PC3K =) And its made in China. Although , again , since i never used it i wont go into speculation about it.
