Trying to swap flash from one board to another and managed to solder in reverse the flash memories (both of them ,old and new  )
Now they are not recognized by my TL866 flash programmer. Is there a way to get the content of the flash to put it in a new chip?
Thanks !

You can recover a ROM, but you need the right tools.
What do you have?

I don't think that he has any tool to recover the rom.
Soptea, you're lucky that the drive is a Western Digital so recovery is still possible, if it were a Seagate F3 drive then wouldn't be possible to recover the rom even with professional tools (maybe only super professional DRs with a lot of skills could recover the rom from a Seagate).

You might like to see if WDMarvel can rebuild the patient's ROM from the SA modules. You'll need another donor board, though, or at least a working donor ROM.

AIUI, a 1 month licence costs US$9.

Regenerating a WD ROYL ROM from SA MODs:

Forget to mention that are no data to recover ,just want to restore the functionality of the drive ,for fun and learning purpose .Earning some cash is out of the questions , after reading some posts on this forum I've learned that many times it takes more than a board swaping to do the job...
My tools are only for soldering and some programmers ,I usually do tv repairs
Now I am looking for a new donor board
