How does use of a damaged drive (e.g. bad heads) affect the firmware?

For example, will using a drive with a damaged head eventually lead to corrupt firmware as well?

Is not recomended to use damaged heads, because can damage media and FW.

Does anyone else have anything to say on this?

Does firmware get damaged by using a faulty drive?

Yes, it builds up a large defect list and could overflow it to the point that the drive will not start.

Main problem comes from the drives inability to write back critical dynamic firmware modules , (If the firmware resides on a surface with damaged head/s)
