Seem to be overrun by these type of drives recently. I have a WD10TMVW thats very slow to respond. It has board board 2060-771737-00 (image attached). I have a matching SATA board 2060-771820-000 Controller number) and have swapped the U12 chip. The drive does not spin up, but the board comes RDY and I can see the ROM information to presume the ROM swap worked. Any advice.

2060-771737 has an SH6601AF.

That board worked fine and can get into the drive to work on it. One more question, I presume I can image the drive (DDI) to a SATA drive and then use a WD Bridge Board to decrypt? I guess I could by a matching donor drive, image to that, swap the ROM over and we would be good. But they are currently running at $250. Do you know a bridge board number that would decrypt the imaged drive? My drive has Symwave SW6316 3VB14.

You can use WD My Book board 4061-705089-001 to decrypt that one.

Didn't see that someone else already responeded. LOL.

By the way if you have PC-3000 the latest version of DE can now software decrypt on the fly. Almost eliminates the need for DDI4 w/ USB addon for these Pasports.

data-medics, I have a question for you, I have a WD my passport that came in with Smartware locked, client claims no password was set, if I convert to sata and clone it to another WD do you think the new DE will be able to decrypt? I haven't go the update so I dont have a way to test it right now, thank you
