Because of wrong adapter or something else many TVS diods burns..
i've changed many TVS diode and everthing was O.K. But sometimes was not.

5v or 12 v TVS diod burns quickly again.

Why?

and which part of PCB reasons that.

PCB's working without 12V TVS diode. but if this could occur again bios chip will burns. This very dangerous for data..

If not, then I think it is a problem if you changed "many" TVS Diodes.

You might be able to find out why, in a specific case, a diode burns, but not generally. There could be a number of reasons.

Maybe you should invest in some kind of power board that cleans up your input power and offers protection?

You should ONLY run without a TVS to recover DATA. And I would never use a HDD again afterwards, not even after a TVS was replaced.

Solution: Be more careful with what adapter you use. Use good power supply. Never run a HDD after DR that has had a TVS fail.

i change regularly. no upside down.

Are all of 12V Tvs diods same specification?

i usually replace with same brand's TVS diode.(i.e. Samsung HD322GJ with Samsung Hd103UJ)

Letters aren't the same. This is unlikely.

but multimeter sees almost same number. 0,510V for 5V diodes.

i buy dead hdd from net. i repair the board and use or sell it.

+1 to Spildit's posts. Either your 1) supply is over-voltage for the diode, 2) you have the wrong diode installed, 3) the diode is installed in reverse, or 4) you have a faulty diode. Nothing to do with what's on the board, unless you have a 12v to 5v bus short somewhere, assuming it's the 5v TVS that's blown.

None of them..

1)Only patient hdd's diode burns every time.
2)I ask that all of 12V diodes is same at the Seagate Drive.
3)No reverse
4)i measure the diodes with multimeter. no short circuit. everthing's O.K.

all i want to say that
if diodes burns first time which part of pcb also damages?

can you post an picture of the PCB board. Perhaps there is something else wrong that we can take a look at.

but you couldn't see any strange thing.
there is no burned area or thing.
Only 12v Tvs diode's absent.

i bet problem 's hidden.
