Hello guys

I have a KALOK KL3120 that i cant seam to get user data access. The drive is detected in pc3000 with o capacity .

I have no experience with this kind of drives

Thank you all for sharing

Wow!
This is an old drive.
Is the data important?

It might seam strange but its really important, i don't know how nowadays someone can still use this kind of drives

Boeing designed their 757/767 aircraft on a CAD/CAM minicomputer with an 80MB SMD. Later versions of the machine had 300MB HDDs. My first data recovery (during the late 1980s) was on one of these drives.

In 1969 NASA sent astronauts to the moon with a computer that had the power of a Commodore 64. Nowadays any advances in hardware technology are quickly eroded by lazy programmers and web designers. What Intel giveth, Microsloth taketh away.

I love old tech, so I just had to find out how it all works.

Hi To all Old Friends!
I’m looking for a high-resolution photo of the Kalok KL3100 hard drive controller to verify the values of a few resistors:
R2, R6, R19
I want to restore the PCB and try to get this hard drive running.
(Most likely, a photograph of the KALOK KL3120 will also be suitable.)

Ugh... those Kalok Octagon drives weren't exactely known for being reliable... check here: https://www.redhill.net.au/d/20.php
