i have two hard drives.
1) External hard drive 300GB Seagate Model ST3500630A
2) Internal hard drive 500GB Western Digital ModelWD3200AAJ8


Both are dead.
from a first diagnostic i had the below results

for disk N° 1 it seems that the Read/Write Head Assembly was found stuck to the platter surface outside of it's normal parking area. Slight platter scoring was also found at the point of contact
between the head assembly and platter surface

For Disk N° 2 it seems the physical platter damage due to contact between the read/write heads and the platter surface.

it seems for these type of issues there is a need to use clean room hence the price is very high.
anyone has any suggestion for a more affordable price to recover the data?
any suggestions?

is there a way to make sure that the disk is really dead and really need clean room and the related cost

is it possible if the reader is dead to change it myself?

If the descriptions are accurate, your drives may not be recoverable.

Either way, you will required professional assistance, these are not DIY jobs.

It sounds like these may have been evaluated by a data recovery company? If so, did they provide photos of the inside of your drive? If not, then I would seek a second opinion. We always provide photos so that the customer can seek a second option (even though the drive is not recoverable!).

If you do get photos, please post them so we can provide an opinion.
