Why would a manufacturer of a Karaoke machine want to "protect" the HDD, except to prevent a user from purchasing his own "optional" accessories?

The old are all working aside the Hard Drive Defect ... after we replace Hard Drive and all be fine,,,

Seems like planned obsolescence to me. Kudos for trying to keep working equipment out of the landfill.

Hello sir ,

First They didnt sell hard drive alone of this unit . 2nd No after sales support ...

when the unit died No Service Centers even the reseller in my country didnt accept and repair it.

the reseller is Hundred miles from my place .

As Spildit has said, the serial number is not on the PCB. (It can't be in the ROM because a PCB swap does not require a ROM transfer. Sorry about that).

However, I can show you how to make a WD drive look like your HDP725032GLA380 using HDDHackr. I just need the Identify Device information returned by your drive. A tool such as CrystalDiskInfo will return a 512-byte information block (use the Text Copy function). I would also clone your drive in case it has operating software on it, but I would clone it after modifying the target drive.

Hello there sir guru,

Thats the reason .. Firstly they sale 40gb then 60gb then 80gb until 160gb. now 500gb and 1TB.

the sad is if you buy in 160gb then you like to upgrade cause the maximum upgrade is 500gb. they are not
accepting..

Example: My Neighbor is using 160gb IDE, she like to upgrade to 250gb or 500gb .. but the reseller didnt accept it .

so it means the unit will be forever no update ...

thats why ..

thanks
