Then he must have cooked the chip so badly that he blew the markings off. Wow.

It's strange that the key dimple also appears to be missing (unless it was just painted on).

no matter if it's cooked, overheated, lost, not original, or whatever the reason is.
bottom line if you dont have the right tools to obtain a copy of the NVRAM, you have to send it to someone who does

It's a Toshiba, not a Hitachi.

There is no reason the picture quality should be so poor. Sorry but it is a pet peev of mine. It is very easy to get great detail in pictures. I just use my iPhone 4S, shine a desk lamp at the wall to stop glare, and position subject well. Crop picture so as to not waste peoples bandwidth and resize in case picture at 100% is overly large. Takes less than 10 min.

For the swap i gone to my repair shop.

He did another work on another PCB and he did it so perfectly.

fzabkar wrote:
Do you have a multimeter?

No. What i have to do with this multimeter?

Anyway, i don't think that the chip is damaged. So, if the chip is good, WHY the HDD doesn't spin up?

Other than swap the "IC602", what i have to do for spin up the HDD?

The i wrote:

I found this similar case:

http://www.deadharddrive.com/forums/vie ... hp?p=10451

The guy says that he has transfered the "IC602" but for spin up the HDD he bypassed the "S" fuse and got the drive spinning again.

From the page:

I've taken a look at the PCB to see if I could figure out what's wrong. I bypassed the "S" fuse and got the drive spinning again

AND ESPECIALLY HOW I BYPASS THE FUSE? What it means to "bypass the fuse"?
I never done these things.

Thanks guys, thank you for all this help.

if you had a multimeter you could done some measurements and figure out who is the culprit that your PCB isn't working

I would read rom of both PCBs via eprom programmer to find which is the native one (that tech could have mixed rom chips).
Reading rom via eprom would be a good way to find out if native rom is still good or if got damaged.

Well,
I would request you to provide all of us a great quality picture of the new pcb with patient ROM chip installed in it .This is the main key to the discussion .I also experimented with how this kinda chip should be installed without cooking the chip or the pcb .Very soon i will prepare a new video on this for some people who can benefit from this .

At least then you would know if the chip was killed or not. Then you could start looking for what to do next, depending on if you have valid ROM or not.

Well,
I do not know why anyone on the forum has not pointed this out but " This is a Brainless programmer " . How is it brainless i will explain with a video .I recommend you Change this .

PS : I would Recommend a TL866CS or Better TL866A For Starters To You and Others .

Lol ,
When This Programmer Was Actively Designed By The Hardware Developer I Was One of The Main Guys Providing Single sided design and improvements . Your 3 Years Daily Experience Versus My 2 Weeks on HDDguru .Small Contributions From My Side Are Already Made .Why Are You So Bothered About My Contributions .Unlike You i Have a Lot Of Daily DR Work .One Of The First Videos Would Be a Tutorial In Soldering And Desoldering " Specially For DR Technicians " .

PS : Ultimately i was fedup explaining morons How to use this programmer and also never recommend it to DR Technicians Atleast .I still have a few lying around stinking somewhere worry not i will definately make a small video on your highness reguest .BTW i already have a small video on better programmer then this stupid one with approx 9000 views lol -> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dnyc155TJBs .

already answered by fzabkar on page #1

The "S" device is the fuse. You shouldn't bypass it without first determining that there are no other problems.

You do know what a fuse is, right? changes this:

------o o-----

to this:

-----------------

Simple as that.

but it is there to blow up if something is going to blow up you want it to be a cheap fuse.

Have a second look at your diagram HaQue. A fuse changes a closed circuit to an open circuit upon overload. Your diagram seems to suggest the opposite.

No it is as I intended. circuit starts of open, then you put in a fuse and it is closed. I should have redone the first one and said that when it blows, it is back to this. I was trying to convey that bypassing the fuse means just put a wire over it :)

Code:
No fuse       ------o o-----

Fuse       -----------------

blown fuse   ------o o-----

cheers!

Given the outcome of the ROM transfer, I would suggest that you entrust the job to a competent TV repair shop or a data recovery specialist. If I'm not mistaken, this is already a lost cause.

Hello guys,
'seabroke' sent me his drive with patient and donor pcb.

Unfurtunally i have to say that this is a lost case :(
I found that patient ROM is damaged (GND pin is missing and also part of plastic package on bottom left).
Even donor rom i found damaged, 2 pins on bottom right are gone.

Second problem is that i've found patient ROM soldered upside down :(
I'm sorry but i have to say that this is a lost case (as many of you already wrote), not possible to recover data due to very bad technician job.
