Seagate 320gb thin drive imaging until 17 % then all sectors (unc).
Incomplete translation?
Any thoughts friends?

Try regenerate translator, then try rebuild translator. Just be patient, the forking takes a while.

Do you still have original SA backup? Original NRG list ? Issues like this arise from the translator regeneration without taking NRG into account.

The drive came to me at this state I didn't do anything yet.
Yes I can access SA and take backup.


Any ideas ?

I am totally confused with translator - 1) Regeneration 2) Rebuild.
In which circumstance to use both & difference between them and on which drive families.Can someone pls. guide.

basically the rebuild should not be used if regeneration is done properly. Also, fw backup is another thing to avoid rebuild.
Of course, once some smartass tried rebuilding, it is a huge mess and hard to recover.
