what happened to disk ?
was it dropped ?
does the sound of drive is absolute normal ?

there is thread where user was successfully able to apply slow-fix by using HDD Super Tool, if it is not working could be head/s.

viewtopic.php?f=1&t=32501&start=20

proper diagnostic is required.

1. No strange sound
2. No Delay in detect by bios and windows
3. All Partition and Files are visible both in linux and windows

the only actual problem is slow slow ... slow reading at ~70K/s in both USB(1961) and SATA(1959)

Start with copying the most important data at this state then try to fix it later or send it to a DR company with proper tools to fix it for a reasonable price.

Already started to copy files..

My question is how to fix this issue, HDDsupertool return same error in both usb and sata board used.

Let me know the procedure to fix DIY (WDR 6, Hddsupertool)

The drive could be SED locked so you have no system area access. PC3000 is able to easily bypass this.

Also sometimes these drives will detect straight away but then become BSY and unresponsive within a couple of seconds (until slow fix applied). Try getting everything set up ready to apply and then just before you run it repower the drive then immediately start the fix.

When it was USB there was no ATA return data indicating that the USB bridge did not accept any vendor specific commands. Now with SATA there is ATA return data. It is failing one of the vendor specific commands. The only way to tell where it is failing is with a modified script that has some extra echo commands in place right before each command (I believe I emailed the OP a modified script). I am curious to see if the super-on command is successful, but then it fails the command to read a module.

The data I have received in a reply indeed indicates that the drive is accepting the first VSC to enable special commands (super-on), but then failing to accept the next command to prepare for module access.

It accepts this:
Code:
# enable vendor specific commands
echo "Enabling vendor specific commands"
buffersize 0
setreadpio
ata28cmd 0x45 0x0b 0x00 0x44 0x57 0xa0 0x80
# check if command failed
gosub status_check

But it does not accept this:
Code:
# vsc to prepare (command to set for module 01 access)
echo "Preparing for read"
buffersize 0x200
clearbuffer
setbuffer 0
  08 00 01 00 01
endbuffer
setwritepio
ata28cmd 0xd6 0x01 0xbe 0x4f 0xc2 0xa0 0xb0
# check if command failed
gosub status_check

I am not familiar with the SED lock, but from the quick reading I have done there is no way it can be overcome by HDDSuperTool, if that is indeed what is preventing the access.

Hello Thx to Everyone who guided me to fix slow issue and just finished 540GB of Data ~40MB/s

Quote:
1. WDR 5.3 -->

Sata is connected in kernel mode and Region map edited

2. WDMarvel beta 7a -->

all modules saved using overlay and directory modules from same firmware version (6.18H) in download section

3. WDMarvel23 -->

Tried read modules using the same overlay (ID11) and Dir (ID01) from the same FW 6.18 by sectors copy 0
(not by ID) only mod 02 and mod 32 but they are overlapped with other modules. So i tried by Dir edit and
subtracted 1 in starting ABA and got correct modules 02 and 32. then applied manually slow fix using HxD and
write back to SA and Adjusted check sum using Recalc KS in Edit module

4. WDR 5.3 -->

Region Map Corrected to original Value

5. Data copied at ~40MB/s

6. Finished
