crucial m550 sata lock , pc died cant unlock with new pc

does anyone know how I can unlock my crucial m550 ssd drive?

My pc board is dead and now i cant unlock with with the known password on my new pc

crucial said i have to use the matching pc to unlock it

What exactly is wrong with the old PC?

I had that coollaboratory liquid pro thermal liquid metal put on the CPU

I was carrying the notebook and i guess it spilled on the motherboard and shorted the motherboard out

I guess it stays liquid and its not good for mobile use

My mistake

I dont want to fix this old notebook, its shorted out now

I spent 45min learning about delidding and have one question. Why would you delid a processor for a motherboard/device which you can't overclock in hopes of lowering your CPU temp by 5 degrees Celsius?

Did you enable HDD Password in your notebooks BIOS?
If so the laptop may hash the password instead of sending it plain text in which case you'd need a replacement MB... or to clean your mb and hope it works.

I have a bad habit of trying to test the things every one brags about online.

My mistake I said.

I dont know how to emulate the hash or motherboard encryption. I was just hoping some smart person made some cool program that could emulate different PC manufacturer's Sata lock unlock so I could unlock it with out buying a replacement board which is hard to find now.

Yes Yes I know I know my mistake for testing stupid stuff. I was hoping this special thermal paste would stop my PC from constantly turning the CPU fan on High while I played online games all day. The noise is annoying. I also thought that special thermal paste was magnetic or something and stuck to the metal copper pads.

The copper looks like it got partially eaten up by this stupid coollaboratory liquid pro. It said it was safe for copper. It really appears it is not. That is probably why it finally spilled out because it ate through the copper pad and then did not stick.

AIUI you don't need the data, then why bother, buy a new one
