IMHO this hard disk need to be open, you can try and maybe you can learn soemthing.
After all how you will learn ? I do not think that you would like to buy another hard disk ( new ) to open it and to learn, would you ?
Because here , this is our procedure, we buy another hard disk and we work in it, and later we work in the client's disk.
