Is this drive recoverable?
Partial or complete recovery?

Unfortunately dust from visible side will be on other side too in near future.
Before head replacement you have to carefully clean both sides of platter.

I was joking, I have recovered 100% of data :)
It was WD 160GB one sided drive (Side 0)

If it was one sided then how did the damage happen? Did it actually have the top head and was just disabled in ROM?

The donor drive was 320GB (Two heads). :)
