Is it possible to change the serial number (not volume serial number) of a HDD? And if it is possible how can this be done?

Hi,
I got a failed -Toshiba MK6465GSX FW: GJ003M which was installed in a Vehicle diagnostics device. After imaging the drive with few bad sectors I installed the imaged drive in the device but the app is asking for the Serial number and Model of the failed drive. So now I got a new Toshiba MQ01ABD100, tried to change using EDIT HDD ID and now it shows the new drive model as "UNDER CONSTRUCTION". It doesn't auto detect so after selecting the family it shows the the model and serial of the old. Shouldn't it ID automatically as the old drive after its changed? Is there any thread that explains how to go about it?

Thanks

Use HDDSuperTool's scripts to read module 02, then modify it and write it back.

We'll do it for you, free of charge.
Send us the drive/bring it to any of our labs in Athens or Thessaloniki and the desired s/n and we'll do it for you within the day.
