Hi All,

I have a Seagate Barracuda 750GB HDD with a seized motor, i have used the drilling method mentioned in the PC-3000 manual, i have the weld seam removed from the drive's motor and tried to put oil in but it won't seep through. The PC-3000 manual says to pump the oil in the 3 small holes. Has anybody done this?

What kind of pump have you used or suggest to use?

Thanks for any help.

Most often for a drive that new the seized motor is a result of a drop which bends the shaft of the bearing. I think the old lube trick was only good for the old Toshibas which had a problem with the fluid bearing grease getting stuck.

Sometimes with enough manual spinning you can get it freed up, but if that doesn't work it's either replace the bearing or platter transplant.
