Installed a used Atlas IV scsi drive,it kept shutting my pc down when trying to spin up.I gently tapped on the sides and FINALLY it spun up.I installed an OS,fooled around with it a bit, shut it down 4 or 5 times and everything was roses.I start it up today and KAPLUNK,its shutting my pc down again. The gree n and yellow led's on the drive lite when posting and utilities recognise it,of course I get the dreaded "not ready"(the only way I can get to the utilties is by jumpering the drive to adaptor start).I think the motor is jamming or the arm is getting stuck on the landing pad?Neone have ne ideas?I hate to throw it away becuse it was running absolutely perfect (when it was running)
+5 and +12 are not grounded and commons are not grounded.,cover has never been removed, was shipped to me in sponge rubber lined box.I'm running a 400W PSU,that should handle it?(I've actually unhooked almost everything else and it still shuts me down.
